The second part of the shooting took place in Chennai Binny Mills at sets put up by art director Selvakumar. Ajith fights with the villain and his 20 men.

In densely populated areas of Visakapatnam, fights between Ajith and the villains have been shot. The 3 fight sequences have been shot by director Thiru using Jimmy-Gip and Akila cranes and steadycam and 435 high speed camera. Ajith did not use dupe or rope for these stunts.

Recently, the duet of Ajith and Trisha was shot in Rajamundry and Visakapatnam.

"Vizhiyil un vizhiyil

Vandhu vizhundhen andha nodiyil…"

Using montage, this song has been shot in several locations. Ajith and Trisha used 6 different costumes for this. Without back projection, 435 camera, steadycam camera, airiflex camera, Jimmy-Gip crane and Akila crane have been used to shoot these songs.

Another song was shot in Kerala’s Allapuzha and at Vandiperiyar. Another song has been shot at a beautifully decorated houseboat and in mountainous areas.

Ajith’s Kreedom - The new release date

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

News about the release of Ajith’s Kreedom has been doing rounds for quite sometime now. Initially it was slated to be released on Ajith’s birthday as a treat to his fans. But plans changed, with the team deciding to screen the movie on 27 April, as there were no big-starrer movies for the Tamil New Year.
                                                Kreedom
It has been a trend in Kollywood to release the audio cassettes and CDs of the movie first. With the audio release of Kreedom still on hold, due to various reasons, it looks like the screening of the movie will be postponed once again. Kollywood’s sources say that the audio of the movie will be released during April-end. As a result, it is expected that the movie will hit the silver screens on 11th May.

Will Sarv’ajith’ bring cheers to Ajith?

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

This Tamil New Year will surely fetch success to Ajith, say industry
pundits and his fans. Stating that the name of the year itself is
Sarvajith, a fan of the actor who was present at the launch of Billa on
Tamil New Year day said, ‘acting in the remake of a Superstar film and
the presence of Rajinikanth himself at the movie launch clearly shows
that Ajith is the real heir of Rajini in Tamil cinema.

We are so happy to see ‘thalaivar’ and ‘thala’ sharing thoughts with
each other for a long time at Billa pooja. Ajith’s success starts with
Kireedom.’

Echoing this, director Vishnuwardhan, the director of new Billa says,
‘I am well aware that huge responsibility is heaped on me since I am
reworking a mass actor’s movie with another mass actor in the lead
role. Every effort has been taken to give the script a chic and rich
treatment.’

Rajinikanth launches `Billa’ remake

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

STARRY OPENING: Actor Ajith and director Vishnuvardan receive
the script from Rajinikanth.

It was a special occasion for the unit of Ananda Film Circuit.

A relaxed looking Rajinikanth formally launched the remake of "Billa", in the presence of its hero Ajith and a host of other dignitaries, recently.

There was no formal speech on the occasion, but Rajinikanth and Ajith seemed to be engaged in a fairly long conversation. Perhaps, there were a few tips from the superstar on how he did the role so many years ago.

Actor-producer Balaji evoked laughter when he addressed the superstar as `Sivaji Rao’. AVM Saravanan and actor Prabhu were among those who turned up to congratulate Ajith.

Producer L. Suresh announced that the shooting for the film would begin from May 4 in Malaysia.

It would go on for nearly a month. The unit would return to Chennai for further work.  The film is directed by Vishnuvardan.

‘Kireetam’ release this month?

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

May 1 is Ajith’s birthday. During his busy days, his films used to get released on May 1 and his fans would go to town, celebrating his birthday as well as his film release.

When the ultimate star got more interested in car races than films, these

Ajith, Trisha
celebrations slowly dwindled and there was no film of his either to be released on May 1. Then Ajith slimmed down, got busy in films and the enthusiastic celebrations by fans resurfaced again.

But fans, who expected that Ajith’s ‘Kireetam’ would get released on May 1, are in for a surprise. Kodambakkam sources say the film could get released on April 27 itself!

The Tamil ‘Kireetam’ is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same title. It got Mohanlal a national award. The film is about family relationships, especially between father and son, and also about social awareness. There is fervent hope that the film would definitely run at least for 100 days.

Since the shooting is over, the film is expected to be released on April 27, but why not make the release date May 1? What’s the hurry? May 1 is a Tuesday and not very auspicious. So the Kodambakkam astrologers have advised an April 27 release!

Whatever be the case, Ajith fans can start celebrations 4 days earlier!

Rajini inaugurates Ajith’s ‘Billa’

Friday, April 13th, 2007

The very start of the ‘Billa’ project started off auspiciously with superstar Rajini lighting the lamp.

Rajinikanth, Ajith, Shalini

Vishnuvardhan. The original film released 20 years back had Rajini in the lead role and Ajith is over the moon that he is to do the superstar’s role in this new version of that hit film.

The launch of the film took place this morning at AVM Studios amidst tight security. Only the special invitees and members of the media were allowed in.

The time of the function was 9.30am but the superstar presented himself 5 minutes earlier, proving that punctuality is one of the main reasons for his rise to the top as superstar. As soon as Rajini entered, Ajith and Shalini fell at his feet for his blessings.

Rajini looked trim and smart in his close haircut and white veshti and shirt. Clad in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, Ajith looked like a Hollywood hero, while his pretty wife Shalini was clad in a black sari. The couple looked a joy to behold. While Rajini spoke easily with Ajith, the cameras clicked away to glory.

As soon as Balaji, the producer of the original ‘Billa’ arrived, the function started. The old crew and the present crew were called to the dais and Rajini lit the lamp. Rajini handed over the script to Ajith formally and director Vishnuvardahn honored them both with shawls.

The heroine Nayantara was missing, but the other heroine Namitha was her usual glamorous self. She seated herself behind Rajini and saw to it that she remained in the glare of the media. Instead of having boring speeches, the function came to a close with the lighting of the lamp.

Some fans got beyond the security and competed to give floral bouquets to Ajith. One of the flowers poked Ajith in the eye and the assistants rushed in and rescued the star from the fan onslaught.

Coming out of the hall, these words on a banner caught the eye.

"Brahma has 3 heads

Murugan has 6 heads

Ravanan has 10 heads

Tamilnadu has one Thala - Ultimate star Ajith!"

Rajini’s presence bedazzles Billa’s inaugural function

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Billa 2007’s inaugural function took place at the AVM studios this morning. Amidst speculations on superstar gracing the function, he arrived in time to wish the unit. It certainly was a pleasant surprise for the entire team whose spirits soared higher after his visit.
                                                ajith
Abiding by Rajinikanth’s wish, the inaugural function of this high budgeted movie was a simple and solemn affair with the customary pooja. The script was handed over to director Vishnuvardhan by Rajinikanth and hero Ajith. Superstar Rajini’s presence was certainly a booster for the Billa team.

Some of the luminaries who attended the function are Ajith, his wife Shalini and Prabhu who will be doing a supportive role in the film. Sripriya who was the heroine of the original film was also present. Directors Saran and Dharani, editor Mohan and his son Jeyam Raja were also spotted at the pooja.
