Ajith – Accident Prone Or Fool Hardy

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

KireedomAjith or the better known ‘Thalai’ of Kollywood started his film career on a promising note with the movie Amaravathi directed by Selvaa. Right after this film he was laid up for nearly 17 months because of a near fatal accident due to his passion for bike racing.

His chocolate boy looks and simple but effective acting style helped him to build back his credibility in the industry slowly, but surely.

He entered the hallowed portals of super stardom with films like Vaali, Citizen, Red,
Race Villan etc.

As the industry watched with disbelief, he threw it all up once more, to indulge his passion in racing, this time round with formula 3 cars. Though he did well in the U.K., lack of sponsorship made him give it up, hopefully, for good.

VaralaaruHe made a second or is it third successful comeback with AVM’s Thirupathi and the movie Paramasivan co-starring Laila. Ajith’s Deepavali 2006 release Varalaaru went on to become a super duper hit, with Asin and Kanika as his leading ladies. It was directed by K.S.Ravi Kumar.

Yet another hurdle has cropped up in the form of a mishap at the shooting spot in Hyderabad for his tamil film Kireedom, starring Trisha and produced by veteran film maker K.Balaji. Ajith is supposed to have performed a stunt, going against not only the request of the stunt director but also the orders of doctors who had done his previous surgeries.

This has again aggravated his old problems and he has been admitted at aAttakasam private hospital in Chennai. So coming back to the question, is Thala Ajith accident prone or fool hardy!!!

All said and done, his passion for cars is quite undiminished as he has apparently placed an order for a Limousine, at an exhibition organized at the Chennai trade centre before his injury.

We will probably seem him in his Swanky new car at the launch of his forthcoming film Billa.

Second Heroine of Billa 2007

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

Billa 2007 can easily be cited as one of the most expected films of this year in the making. It is not only due to the big names of the industry associated with the film like Ajith, Vishnuvardhan and Nayantara but also due to the curiosity it has aroused regarding the film itself.
                                                        pooja
The original film being a runaway hit, the remake has kindled a lot of anticipation. What has the movie in store - the plot being the same? Introduction of novelties? Narration? Glamour quotient? There are many eager questions. These anticipations seem to raise the barometric levels to new highs.

In the current version, Nayantara would be donning the role that Sripriya played in the original. Initially Isha Shervani was said to be the heroine but for reasons unknown, she has withdrawn from the film. The team is scouting for an actress to assay the role played by Praveena in the older version. According to the grapevine Pooja is being considered for this role.

Ajith, the workaholic

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Ajith is a thorough professional.

And these days, with him being very reticent, his work seems even more pronounced.

Ajith, it maybe recalled, had to be rushed to the hospital during the shoot of Kireedom. He has a history of bad back and apparently that flamed up again.

But after the mandatory checks and resting for a few days, Ajith didn’t want to prolong his rest.

Despite some strong advice to take it easy for some more time, Ajith is back again shooting for Kireedom.

Ajith, who just recently drove to Vizag in a car just because he couldn’t get a flight ticket and did not want the film crew to suffer because of his absence, wants to finish Kireedom early and take up Billa under Vishnuvardhan soon.

Now, that clearly shows what a thorough professional Ajith is.

Kireedom stars Ajith, Trisha, Saranya and Rajkiran. The story is about a strong and philosophical relationship between a man and his son.

Ajith’s Kreedom nearing its completion

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

Ajith starrer Kreedom is nearing its completion and the latest is that the shooting is to get over by 15th of March and the post-production work would start. The crew is planning to release the movie on May1st, birthday of ultimate star Ajith. If not they would release it by the first week of May.

Kreedom

Readers would remember that Kreedom is the remake of Malayalam movie with the same name that had Mohanlal winning the national award for his performance. Will Ajith follow the footpaths of Mohanlal. We have to wait for the first week of May. Also Kreedom in Malayalam had a sequel to it. Named "Chenkol" was released after the success of Kreedom and had the same cast. Will the same happen in Tamil? Only the success of the first part would decide.

Why Vishnuvardhan preferred Nayantara?

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

It has been officially announced that Nayantara will be seen opposite Ajith in Billa 2007. A lot of names had been discussed before Nayantara was decided upon. Now the question. Why did Vishnuvardhan prefer Nayantara over some other names that were thrown around?

Nayantara

We found a couple of reasons when sources close to the director were enquired. Vishnu found Nayantara’s body language to bear a close resemblance to that of the then svelte looking Sri Priya’s, who carried out the role with great aplomb in the original version opposite Rajinikanth.

The other reason being that the heroine of Billa 2007 is not going to be a run of the mill stuff just appearing for songs, a few romantic scenes and then in the climax. The heroine here will have to be present right from start to finish competing with the hero for screen space essaying a very strong and bold performance. Vishnuvardhan found Nayan to be one amongst the current crop of heroines, who is capable of handling a role that is bold and rough, especially after her display in E!.

Anyways, all the very best Nayantara.

Ajith returns to shoots

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Ajith is back in scene. News has it that he recovered from the backache he sustained during the shoots of Kreedom in Vishakapatnam that led the director call off the shoots. Ajith was flown to Chennai immediately and later was admitted to Apollo hospitals.

Kreedom

After undergoing medical supervision in the hospitals, he was further advised to take bed rest for a week.

Now that he has recovered, the shoots of Kreedom are resumed and scenes involving Ajith, Trisha, Saranya, and Rajkiran are being canned in Chennai. We learnt that the precarious stunt scenes of Ajith that induced his backache would be shot only after Ajith is completely recovered.

Nayanthara is Billa’s girl!

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Nayanthara
has bounced back in Kollywood with a bang! She has signed on the dotted
line to be Ajit’s heroine for Vishnuvardhan directed Billa.

Isha Sherwani who was given an advance was dropped as she demanded the
moon and the makers thought that Ajit-Nayan combination is any day a
hotter proposition.

This news comes at a time when everybody had written off Nayanthara
after a few intimate photographs with her former lover appeared in a
section of the media. And later there was this rumour about her suicide
attempt!

Nayanthara told Moviebuzz:
“All this has made me a much stronger person. I believe that rumours
and fame go hand in hand. I want to make it clear once again that I am
focusing all my energies on my career in Tamil and Telugu.”

Nayan has given continuous bulk dates from May for Billa. Vishnu and Ananda Suresh are just back after finalizing locations in Malaysia and Singapore for the shoot.

Nearly 65 percent of the film will be shot in foreign locales and it
will be one of the most stylishly shot films in Tamil. Ajit and
Nayanthara is sure to sizzle as they make a fine pair.

Nanda creates trouble for Ajith’s Kreedom

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

Though suffered a slight setback owing to Ajith’s backache, Kreedom is said to be well on track. The shoots are expected to spiral back into action after Ajith’s recovery. Directed by A.L. Vjay, Kreedom is the remake of the Malayalam movie by the same name.

Ajith & Trisha

Interestingly, the Malayalam Kreedom ends on a tragic note and is followed by a sequel named Chengol.

Would a tragic end be entertaining enough for the Tamil fans? It is not clear as to what the director would decide about the sequel. It remains to be seen whether the Tamil Kreedom will combine both the Malayalam movies (Kreedom and Chengol) into a single package.

On the other hand, the storyline of Nanda starrer Agaram is rumored to have followed the footsteps of Kreedom. Wrapped up and ready for release, Agaram might as well receive resistance from the Kreedom stable and it is expected that the producers of Kreedom will demand for a screening of the movie before it hit the screens.

Ajith fans on sms campaign

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

As
soon as the news of Ajith falling ill while shooting spread, his
anxious fans have started an SMS campaign urging their friends and
well-wishers to pray for the speedy recovery of the actor.

A section of the press had carried reports a couple
of days back that the actor had suffered acute pain after shooting for
a stunt sequence for Kireedom at Visakhapatnam.

The news spread like wildfire and anxious fans even gathered in front of his house in Chennai.

It may be recalled that Ajith underwent several
operations in his back after sustaining injuries in a motor race a few
years ago.

Meanwhile, Shalini (Ajith’s wife) clarified on
Tuesday that it was  a minor injury and it is nothing to worry about.
She said he would join the sets of Kireedom very soon.
