Trisha has been finalized for his Kireedom, the other projects that are being announced day in and day out seem to have caught the attention of quite a few pretty women in the industry. Ajith, Vijay to remake Rajini hits?

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Remaking yesteryear blockbusters is fast becoming a fad in Bollywood. Now the same talk is doing the rounds in Tamil too.

Recently, Vijay confessed to a dream of doing the
remake of Rajinikanth hit Murattu Kaalai. Now it is not clear as to who
will remake it. But Vijay has expressed the desire for the same.

Elsewhere, Ajith is not left far behind in this remake dream.

Kollywood buzz has it that Ajith maybe doing the remake of Billa soon, for Balaji’s son, Suresh Balaji’s production.

It maybe recalled that it was Balaji who made the original Billa with Rajini not long ago.

Further, Billa’s original, Don, was recently remade in Hindi with Shahrukh Khan.

Ajith’s two-in-one celebrations

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Ajith used to be one of the few people in the industry to talk their mind out. This was when he had fewer hits and when he was still learning the nuances of the industry. But not anymore. He does not meet the media persons any longer. Nor does he grace the public gatherings that he attends with his speech. He has become a man of few words in the line of A.R. Rahman.

Ajith

He gave the media a glimpse of his transformation in the press meet he gathered to celebrate the success of Varalaru recently in a five star hotel. He addressed the crowd with a few words by stating ‘I wanted to meet all of you.

That is the purpose of gathering this meet’. After conveying this ‘too short to be called a message’, Ajith went on to his silence mode. If you might remember, he had not granted interviews to any tabloids for quite sometime.

The press meet of Varalaru had another significant incident attached to it. Ajith has clubbed the celebrations of his father’s 75th birthday along with the celebration of Varalaru’s success.

Kireedom title gets the go ahead

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Suresh Balaji, the producer of Ajith’s Kireedom, has decided not to change the movie’s title.

There were talks that the producer would opt for a
title change, since the word Kireedom has its origin in Sanskrit and
Malayalam. It was feared that it would prevent them from getting tax
exemption in Tamil Nadu.

However, the producer had sought a clarification
with the Tamil department of the State government, who are responsible
to confirm if a title is Tamil or not. The department gave its approval
for the title Kireedom.

The shooting for Kireedom begins at Rajamundry on 6 December. For director Vijay this will be his maiden directorial venture.

Ajith is paired with Trisha and the movie is a take off on a Malayalam hit of yesteryear of the same name.

It deals with a quaint relationship between a man and his son. Ajith plays the son while Raj Kiran is his father.

No change for Ajith’s film

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

The tax waiver for a Tamil film with a Tamil title from Tamil Nadu government has resulted in movies with chaste Tamil titles. Films with non-Tamil titles are quick to be altered to an authentic Tamil one. There was a talk about Ajith’s film Kreedam to be changed to Magudam as the word Kreedam has its origin in Sanskrit and Malayalam. But the committee who is responsible to confirm if a title is Tamil or not has informed the producer Suresh Balaji that he can go ahead with Kreedam.

Ajith

Pleased with this news, the film had its first song recorded on Friday with playback singer Jayachandran rendering the number. The shooting for Kreedam begins at Rajamundry on December 6th. For director Vijay this will be his maiden directorial venture.

Asin on Alps travel with Ajith couple

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

Asin is just back from Switzerland after finishing the shoots of Alwar. She did not come alone though. Well, don’t unleash your imagination yet.

Aalwar

It is just that she brought home loads of memories from the Alpine country. Now over to the petite beauty who couldn’t have enough of Switzerland.

I flew to Switzerland with Ajith, Shalini, and my father Joseph Thottumkal. The landscape of that country was simply breathtaking and Alps was a marvel by itself. The sight of Alps was simply awe-inspiring and the only thing that made me frown during the trip was for dancing in those transparent outfits during the shoots, which froze me to death, quipped Asin. We had a great time sight seeing in winches that take you above the mountains and the view was spectacular, she added on.

Now that she loves the place, did she enquire the real estate value? Well, she did not say anything of that sort. On the other hand, she left a valuable piece of information before signing off. She uttered that she found a new friend in Shalini and movies with Ajith such as Varalaru and Alwar brought those ladies together. So, she wouldn’t miss all that girly talk while on the sets, would she?

Monsoon causes setback in Aalwar shoots

Monday, November 20th, 2006
‘Monsoons rains that are lashing Tamilnadu have caused disruption in the everyday life of common man. It appears that Kodambakkam is equally affected by the downpour. Cancellation of the outdoor shoots of numerous movies substantiate this. Recently the crew of Aalwar had to cancel their shoots and stay indoors in Gobichettipalayam following the incessant rains.
Alwar

Gobichettipalayam, which is in the Erode district, attracts Kodambakkam a great deal for its nature rich lush green villages, beautiful peaks, and dams. Aalwar crew has camped in Gobi for the shoots involving Ajith. A bungalow has been rented in Kallippati for the shoots and it was also scheduled to conduct the shoots in the Agraharas of Sathi. However, the crew could not carry out the shoots owing to monsoon rains and eventually the shoots were cancelled.

It is learnt that Aalwar is now being shot in Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad where a set made to replicate the agrahara of Sathi is erected.
