Ajit’s new film for Suresh Balaji

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Ajit
has signed a new film for ‘Sujata Cine Arts’ and ‘Adlab Film
Laboratories’ (Mumbai). Sujata Cine Arts is a professional outfit of
veteran producer K.Balaji, the one time prestigious banner down south,
who have produced some memorable hits with the late Sivaji Ganesan and
Rajnikanth.

Now K.Balaji’s son Suresh Balaji who himself is involved in film
production and ad films is reviving the one time hit banner Sujata Cine
Arts, after a gap of nearly 18 years. Suresh has tied up with the
Mumbai based Adlabs, a listed company who is into film production,
processing, distribution and are also in Multiplex business.

According to Suresh Balaji: “ It is a joint production between Sujata
and Adlabs. We have signed up Ajit and the film will start rolling in
November for a summer 2007 release in April. We are still working out
the director and the technical crew. It will be a commercial film that
will provide maximum entertainment”.

The buzz is that Ajit will be getting a whopping Rs 3 crore for the
film, and has already got a substantial advance as signing amount. Well
it is good news, that Kollywood is getting corporatised and film making
is turning more professional. Three cheers to Suresh Balaji in reviving
a great banner.

It was well known to fans that Ajit was keen to act in Bala’s ‘Naan Kadavul’ and was seen moving around sporting long hair, just to get into the groove of the image that was required in the movie.

But once it got official that Thenappan, the producer, was withdrawing from the movie, then it became easy for Ajit to take a call.
According to Ajit, his word was to Thenappan-Bala pair. If the producer is not part of the project, then, please excuse me from the film, says Ajit.

After calling it quits, Ajit was feeling a bit uneasy for some time. Not any more. He would be next acting in the film produced by the veteran producer-actor, Suresh Balaji. There were reports, however, that Ajit has been signed by Mohan Natarajan for his new venture.

But, according to insiders, Ajit’s next film would be from Suresh Balaji’s production house and not elsewhere. The production is likely start from mid-June or July.

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

The
season of dubbed movies don’t seem to end. Too many movies from Telugu
have been dubbed from Tamil in the last one year or so. The biggest hit
among them has been Rajinikanth starrer Chandramukhi, directed by P
Vasu. Now P vasu is busy with a project of Balakrishna’s.

Meanwhile, the news is that P Vasu’s another Tamil movie Paramasivan is being dubbed as Paramasivam.

With Ajith, Laila, Jeyram and Prakash Raj in main roles, the film has musical score from Vidyasagar.

The movie had been classified a nominal hit in Tamil.

Splitting hairs

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

After opting out of director Bala’s Naan Kadavul, Ajith immediately cut the long hair that he grew for acting in the movie.

It may be recalled that while he was shooting for
God Father, talks to cast Ajith in Bala’s Naan Kadavul began. After
listening to the storyline and on Bala’s advice, he grew long hair to
fit the role.

However the project was delayed. But Ajith continued acting in his other films with the same long hair.

However his wait for nearly six months yielded  no result as the movie could not hit the floors.

Last week, Ajith promptly informed Bala and backed out of Naan Kadavul. The next thing he did was to cut his hair.

Ajit and Asin are back!

Monday, May 29th, 2006

It is almost confirmed that Asin will be Ajit’s heroine in producer Mohan Natarajan’s new film to start sometime in mid-June.

This means that Asin will have to adjust her dates between Vijay’s Pokiri remake and this untitled film of Ajit. Remember that Godfather, her first film with Ajit is yet to see the light of the day.

The grapevine has it that Ajit is being given a free hand to choose a
director of his choice for Mohan Natarajan film which is likely to be
his Diwali release. Meanwhile there are rumours that Ajit has also met
director Selva who had launched him with Amaravathi in Tamil way back in 1993.

Ajit is interested to do a film with Selva who is said to have narrated a script to him a few months back.

Ajith explains

Friday, May 26th, 2006

Rumours
have been doing the rounds for the last few days that Ajith has opted
out of the much hyped Naan Kadavul, an ambitious project of director
Bala.

Confirming the reports, Ajith, has said that he has
taken the decision to leave the project. "The shooting was supposed to
start from 1 May, but there has been no move from Bala’s side and hence
I decided not to wait anymore."

However denying reports of a difference of opinion
between him and Bala over his decision, Ajith, said, "I convinced him
of my decision and decided to part with cordiality."

Meanwhile Ajith has signed a movie for producer Mohan Natarajan, which would kick off soon.

Bala, meanwhile is reportedly searching for a
suitable hero now. Few names including his protege Surya, Arya and
Naren are in the list.

What’s Ajith’s next move?

Friday, May 26th, 2006
Ajith

Yesterday we carried the news that Naan kadavul has run into fresh trouble with the hero Ajith pulling out of the film. While everything is shrouded in mystery, some reasons are trickling out as to why this happened. Ajith had been eager to start the project on May 1 after his vacation.Besides, he wanted to finish Naan kadavul quickly so that it could ride on the success of Tirupathi. But, Bala had been dragging his feet for so long and shooting had not started. Ajith had not been informed about the probable reasons for the delay.
So, Ajith decided to move out of the film and started discussions with Mohan Natarajan and Salem Chandrasekar. While Ajith does have some grievances, he claims that there is no ill will and the separation has been cordial.

Meanwhile Surya has declined to act in the film citing other commitments. Therefore, Chithiram Paesuthadi Narain has met Bala and so he could be the hero. Watch this space for more developments.

‘Naan Kadavul’ – Surya to replace Ajith!!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006
Surya

What has jinxed Bala and his films? After endless delays and needless negative attention, he was finally all set to start shooting for Naan kadavul. The script was ready, the unit ready and even the schedule finalized. The first schedule was to be shot at the holy town of Kashi. The hero Ajith was ready for the venture and had even grown his locks. Now, we have the bombshell of a news that Ajith has eased himself out of the project. Bala’s other protégé Surya would be playing the hero now.
Asked the reasons for the latest development, Ajith said that he had discussed the matter with producer PL. Thenappan and had moved out with cordiality and good vibes. He was not “upset” over anyone or anything. Do you get the message? Watch out for more twists to the story. Seems like the making of the film itself would qualify as a thriller.

Surya for Ajith?

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

The
latest buzz doing rounds is that producer P L Thenappan has shelved his
plans to produce Naan Kadavul to be directed by Bala featuring Ajith in
the lead role.

The reason being attributed is the delay in the
release of his home production Vallavan being enacted and directed by
Silambarasan.

However Bala is hopeful of finding a new producer.
Grapevine is abuzz with rumours that Ajith would now be replaced by
Surya in the movie.

Surya is obviously a hot favorite of Bala.
Interestingly, a few movies including Nerruku Ner, Ghajini were
initially supposed to star Ajith in the lead role and later starred
Surya in the lead cast. All went on to become big hits. Let’s wait and
watch.

Note: We are not sure about thiz newz so, don’t worry much about NK and think about GF
