Bala takes a different path

Saturday, October 22nd, 2005

It is three years since ‘Pithamagan’ was released. There is no indication of a next film from Bala.  Ajith’s ‘Naan Kadavul’ is as big a puzzle as god himself. Will it ger released, won’t it get released? There seems to be a debate going on about it in the film industry. So, what is happening with Bala? A question like this, got us surprising answers.

Bala is becoming a full time producer! We got this information from several quarters. The reasons  is three years since ‘Pithamagan’ was released.

Surya, Bala

After ‘Pithamagan,’ he did ‘Mayavi’ on behalf of ‘B Studio’. Producer Durai is demanding that Bala compensate him for the loss of ‘Pithamagan’ otherwise, ‘Mayavi’ will be stopped’. Now Thanu has stepped is with his helping hand. Though Bala is the producer, the film will be released in the name of Thanu. Next came the call sheet problems of Ajith in ‘Naan Kadavul’. So, he stopped ‘Naan Kadavul’ and started ‘Paramasivan’ starring Ajith and directed by P Vasu. After this, Ajith is doing ‘Thirupati’. Only after completing this AVM’s film, can Ajith think of doing ‘Naan Kadavul.’

At this point of time, since he was free, Vikram asked him to direct the Tamil version of the Malayalam film ‘Sandhu Pottu.’ When Bala did not agree for this, Shafi who did ‘Majaa,’ will direct ‘Sandhu Pottu’ in Tamil. .

At the same time, Bala is producing a film with Vikram directed by Selvaraghavan and a film with Surya directed by Vishnuvardhan. He has also asked both Cheran and Balaji Sakthivel to do films on his behalf.

What made such a great creative director to turn a producer? Bala’s friends are wringing their hands in confusion!

Ajith shocks, unit in a daze

Saturday, October 22nd, 2005

What has gotten into Ajith? A tiger or a cyclone? The ‘Paramasivan’ unit is looking on in perplexity.

Ajith
Ajith’s name in ‘Paramasivan’ is Shiva. Shiva is one who destroys. He is the lord of destruction, who destroys evil people like the asuras. Ajith is as possessed as the character in the film. His energetic actions as he zooms on his motorcycle, or chasing the villains ferociously, or the momentum of his acting, the unit is open mouthed in amazement. His co-stars are having a hard time. Even as Ajith gives a perfect take in the first shot, the others can’t cope up. Surya had remarked that, "Don’t under estimate Ajith. He will be a hot shot hero giving lot of hit films," and the unit cannot but believe that this prophecy is coming true in ‘Paramasivan.’

Ajith has sparkled in the bike chase. "All his pent up energies are let loose in this film," praises director P Vasu whole heartedly. And, Ajith does not open his mouth to utter anything. His close friends say that his idea is to act and prove instead of bandying empty speeches. Ajith may not speak much, but the sound of his car horn is enough to light the fire in the unit.

‘Paramasivan’ is a signal that Ajith’s earlier flops will soon become history!

GodFather not to release on Deepavali

Monday, October 17th, 2005

The film was expected to be released on Deepavali and the director, K.S. Ravikumar and hero Ajith were quite enthusiastic to see it through. Only two songs and two days’ shooting remain, but the  film’s producers faced some financial crunch and therefore, shooting had stopped midway. K.S.R. got busy with Saravana and A.R. Rahman started on Jillendru oru kadhal and Sivaji. The hero is busy with Tirupathi and Paramasivan. Therefore, the main team members have become occupied with other commitments and hence Godfather’s release has been delayed.

Ajith cuts down flab while Vijay will add some pounds

Monday, October 17th, 2005

Vijay is currently working in Aadhi which is a home production. His other film, Sivakasi is ready for release on Deepavali. Vijay has so far stuck to his image of romantic and action-oriented hero and he has not gone in for much of makeovers or looks for characters in his films. However, in Puli  which will be directed by S.J. Surya, he plays a police officer Pulipandian. Therefore, he has decided to pump iron and add some pounds to look the part. He plans to do this after Aadhi is over. When Vijay is adding pounds, Ajith has worked hard to reduce his weight for Tirupathi and Paramasivan. Queer are the ways of these two gentlemen!
